What's going on and why are YouTube videos not playing? Firefox has built in support for open media formats usually associated with WebM, Ogg and Wave containers. I did get Chromecast to work by downloading the Videostream extension for Chrome so I can cast to my TV I did have to run the Videostream repair utility to open the correct ports. I have cleared out the caches and run disc permissions repairs. Use a media player with in-built codecs. The video stops playing when you change the resolution especially in full screen mode.

I was having this problem as well.. I noticed the program then uninstalled items and the added files. Once complete I restarted the computer, went to YouTube and viola! I could play YouTube videos.
